Para-Dressage is currently the only equestrian discipline in the Paralympic Games. Paralympic dressage has been part of the games since 1996. It became part of the World Equestrian games in 2010. Riders are classified into 5 different grades by type of disability. Depending on these classifications, riders walk, trot, and/or canter a specific dressage test. Para athletes include paraplegics, amputees, blind or partially sighted persons, and those with cerebral dysfunction.
